Dongfeng intelligent truck with pilotless and automatic uploading functions enabling 5G intelligent port

Automatic delivering and loading of containers, automatic uploading and receiving of containers, automatic avoidance of road obstacles, completion of operations such as accurate alignment of tyre crane, discharge of containers in the container yard…On May 11, at Fujian Xiamen Ocean Gate Container Terminal, a pilotless port container truck successfully completed loading and uploading operations of the containers.

On the morning of that day, Dongfeng Motor Corporation, China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited Co., Ltd. and China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd. jointly held the cloud launch conference of “5G+ Pilotless Truck Enabling Intelligent Port” in Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen, Wuhan, Shiyan and other cities.

In the main venue of Fujian Xiamen Port, the pilotless port container truck of Dongfeng Trucks conducted site operations and completed site acceptance of 5G intelligent terminal under the full-service scenarios, indicating that construction of 5G intelligent port has entered pilot production and trial stage under the full-service scenarios from the experimental research stage.

On that day, Dongfeng Trucks also released Pilotless Port Container Truck Standard, which provides more systematic guidelines for promoting the practical use of driverless vehicles in China. It is learned that Dongfeng pilotless port container truck, without a cabin, is composed of “chassis + sensor”. In the future, the pilotless port container truck of Dongfeng Trucks will be widely used in port operations.
