On November 10, 2015, Chang Hua, Chinese ambassador to the UAE and Li Lingbing, Chinese consul general in Dubai attended the new model launch ceremonies of several Chinese automakers during the 2015 Dubai International Motor Show.
Chang and Li witnessed the launch of several models of DongFeng Motor Corporation in the Middle East, test-rode the newly-launched models, and inspected the booths of all Chinese exhibitors.
While listening to the local business reports delivered by the heads of the Chinese automakers, Chang acclaimed their efforts in developing the local market, noting that the UAE and Gulf auto markets have clear structures and huge potential, requiring that Chinese automakers should tighten quality control, grasp development opportunities, identify market positions, perfect product strategies, renovate service models and launch more custom models specific to the local market.
Chinese automakers which entered the local market late should be good at learning, work steadily, open up the market by quality products, and cultivate customer loyalty by quality services, so as to establish competitive business operation models locally, develop and perfect dealer network channels, establish service systems, and build competitive brand image.
During communicating with local dealers and car owners, Chang inquired about the possible problems faced by Chinese automakers in local business development and local consumers' feel for Chinese vehicles, saying that China's auto industry has developed rapidly in spite of starting late. The Chinese government has encouraged Chinese automakers to "go global", and offered all-round policy support for vehicle export to constantly advance the globalization of independent auto brands, he added.
In a media interview, Chang noted that Chinese automakers have worked closely with local dealers in the UAE and developed with great momentum, showing the transformation of Chinese exported products from "Made in China" into "Created in China". The entry of Chinese outstanding auto brands into the local market has enhanced the overseas image of Chinese products, said him, pledging that the Chinese embassy and consulate general in the UAE will continue to make their due contributions to the healthy, smooth and rapid development of China-made vehicles in the UAE.
The Dubai International Motor Show is an automotive exhibition with the largest scale and most complete brands in the Middle East. This year, the exhibition brought together over 600 vehicles from key automakers across the world, and is expected to attract over 100,000 visitors. All key automakers in China appeared this year with the largest booth area, exhibition scale and promotion intensity ever.
