On January 31st, the final of the First 'DongFeng Dream Car' China Youth Eco-friendly Automobile Creative Design Contest took place at DFM Headquarters. After undergoing rigorous examinations, the Hunan University GZW Team won the 'DongFeng Dream Car' award with its design work named 'Summer'. The final was judged by Secretary of the Secretariat of the Communist Youth League Central Committee Xu Xiao, General Manager of DFM , Chairman of the DongFeng Public Welfare Foundation Zhou Qiang, Secretary-General of the China Foundation for Youth Entrepreneurship and Employment Chen Zong and Secretary of the Hubei Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League Zhang Guihua.
In its design work 'Summer', the Hunan University GZW Team took 'cicada' as the inspiration of originality, sought variation in the modeling design, made stunning breakthroughs in green energy technology and thought ahead in intelligent design, receiving high recognition from the appraisal committee. In addition, Southeast University, Hefei University of Technology and Chongqing University's design teams were respectively conferred the 'Green Award for Best Modeling', the 'Green Award for Best Technology' and the 'Green Award for Best Intelligence'. Another six works from Jilin University, Tsinghua University, Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, Wuhan University of Technology, Dalian University of Technology and Hunan University were conferred the 'Award for Excellent Work'. The Wuhan University of Technology won the 'Best Institute/University in the Organization' award.
With its theme of 'For Green, For the Future', this event kicked off in May 2014 and aimed to build a platform that taps talents in the China automobile industry and facilitates contemporary youths to fulfill the 'Auto Dream'. In terms of the creative design of eco-friendly automotive products, this contest inspires students to take green modeling as the creative core, green technologies as the creative feature and green intelligence as the design highlight in order to create characteristic models in China's eco-friendly automobile industry.
