On February 17, 2026—the first day of the Chinese Lunar New Year—Dongfeng Import & Export Corporation, in partnership with its authorized distributor in Sri Lanka, officially inaugurated its new flagship commercial vehicle showroom in Colombo. As the largest commercial vehicle 4S facility in the country, this milestone marks a significant advancement in Dongfeng’s strategic expansion across South Asia.
The grand opening and full-line product launch drew over 500 distinguished guests, including representatives from the Sri Lankan government, leaders of the national Transport Association, key fleet customers, and major media outlets.
During the ceremony, executives from both Dongfeng’s Light-Duty Commercial Vehicle Overseas Business Unit and Medium & Heavy-Duty Commercial Vehicle Overseas Business Unit delivered keynote remarks. He Zhuoqun, Country Manager for the Medium & Heavy-Duty unit, expressed his vision: “We hope that modern Dongfeng trucks will empower Sri Lankan drivers and businesses to create lasting value and contribute to building a better future for their communities.”
The event showcased Dongfeng’s comprehensive commercial vehicle portfolio—from nimble light-duty models to robust medium- and heavy-duty trucks—highlighting the brand’s versatility and technological maturity.
In a strong show of market confidence, the ceremony featured vehicle handovers to several major fleet customers, followed by the signing of a landmark order for 60 heavy-duty trucks between Dongfeng and its local partner—a testament to the deepening collaboration between both parties.
Strategically positioned as a key hub in South Asia, Sri Lanka plays a pivotal role in Dongfeng’s regional growth plan. The new showroom not only elevates the brand’s local presence but also significantly enhances after-sales support and customer service capabilities, laying a solid foundation for sustained market penetration.
