DFM A9 launched abroad, overseas direct selling to be practiced innovatively


On August 24, the biennial international auto event-Moscow International Automobile Salon kicked off at the CROCUS Expo International Exhibition Centre.

Under the theme of "With You", DFM showed up with a strong lineup of 10 models, including its first premium flagship car DFM A9, DFM New A60, DFM A30, DFM H30 CROSS, AX7 and AX3 representing DFM AX SUV series, DFM Fengguang 370 MPV, racecar in the Silk Way Rally-DFM Rich pickup and high-mobility special off-road vehicle-"Warrior". DFM's booth implies "the Belt and Road, Exploration and Innovation". The biggest highlight of DFM at the exhibition was the overseas launch of its first premium flagship car-DFM A9.

On the morning of August 24, the launch ceremony of A9 was held at DFM's booth. Over 200 attendees, including Zhang Di, Economic and Commercial Minister-Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Russia; Cai Guiru, President of the Russia-China Chamber of Commerce; Pan Chengzheng, Party Secretary of China DongFeng Motor Industry Imp. & Exp. Co., Ltd.; Russian local government officials, representatives from Chinese institutions in Russia, DFM's dealers in Russia, representatives from partners, as well as representatives from renowned Chinese and Russian media, witnessed the overseas launch of DFM A9. Tina Kuznetsova, a popular star from Voice of Russia, sang passionately for the ceremony.

Following the ceremony, Chinese and Russian mainstream media made interviews and a partner communication meeting was held. Wang Peng, General Manager of DongFeng Motor Russia Co., Ltd., introduced the independent R&D of the latest automotive technologies, as well as DFM's first premium flagship car A9 representing the highest R&D level of DFM. After communication and close-range experience, the media and partners spoke highly of the outstanding appearance, exquisite interior and outstanding quality of DFM A9, expecting it to enter the Russian market as early as possible to give local consumers enjoyment of life.

Though the Russian auto market has slumped on economic depression in recent years, DFM has made unremitting efforts to intensify market development and operation in Russia. In the first half of 2016, DFM was ranked second in exports among Chinese automakers in Russia, with the number of new Dongfeng vehicles licensed in Russia up year on year.

This was the fifth time for DFM to participate in the Moscow International Automobile Salon. This year coincides with the economic downturn of Russia. DFM's participation shows its determination to develop the Russian market. The exhibition boosted the confidence of Russian partners in dealing with Dongfeng vehicles, offered Russian media and end users a better knowledge of Dongfeng brand and models, and enhanced the brand value of Dongfeng.

The certification of DFM's key exhibits-DFM AX7 and DFM A30 in the Russian market and its launch in Russia will be completed in the near future, and three models are expected to be available for sale in Russia by next year to fully meet market and customer demands.

Since 2014, Dongfeng passenger vehicles have been available for sale in Russia. Under the favorable policy of "the Belt and Road", DFM has seized opportunities and developed rapidly in Russia. DFM's Russian flagship store will also go into operation this year as its first direct sales store abroad. On this basis, DFM will innovatively practice the mode of overseas direct selling and strive to achieve greater results in Russia.

DFM sold 737,200 units in the first seven months of this year, up 6.80 percent year on year, including 470,500 independent passenger vehicles and 266,700 independent commercial vehicles, up 9.41 percent and 2.47 percent year on year respectively. Guided by the strategy of "globalization", DFM will make concerted efforts to intensify overseas market development, gradually develop the modes of overseas market development and operation-"KD", "direct sales store", "strategic cooperation" and "national strategy", conduct exploration and make innovation by "making comparative analyses and making efficiencies", so as to make newer greater contributions to the globalization of China's auto industry.
